Connection Settings and Limits

Some connection settings differ from the SQLite defaults, and some cannot be changed.

Settings

Setting	Value
Journal mode	`wal`. Cannot be changed.
Page size	4096 bytes. Cannot be changed.
Checkpointing	Managed by the service. Cannot be changed.
Foreign keys	Enforcement is on by default, unlike stock SQLite. `PRAGMA foreign_keys = OFF` turns it off for the current connection only.
Double-quoted strings	Rejected. `"name"` is always treated as an identifier, never as a string literal. Use single quotes for strings.
Recursive triggers	Off by default.
Temporary storage	In memory. `CREATE TEMP TABLE` is not supported.

The following statements are rejected as unsupported:

PRAGMA writes to page_size, synchronous, journal_mode, and wal_autocheckpoint. Reading them works.
PRAGMA optimize and PRAGMA wal_checkpoint
VACUUM and ANALYZE
ATTACH DATABASE
CREATE TEMP TABLE

REINDEX is supported.

These correspond to SQLite’s run-time limits.
