bunny.net partners with Backblaze to help reduce egress fees and supercharge content!

Posted by:

At bunny.net, we're constantly asking ourselves how we can make the world a better place and allow companies and developers to more efficiently accelerate and deliver their content. To do that, we have built one of the fastest global networks with presence around the world, consisting of 94 PoPs and growing.

However, delivering content is just a part of the equation. The other part is storage. Before delivering content, it first needs a place to live.

While bunny.net operates our own object storage with our Edge Storage platform, it was primarily designed with performance and global replication in mind. However, in a world where the amount of data stored is growing exponentially, it's more important than ever to be able to store files efficiently and in a cost effective way.

Meet Backblaze B2

One of the pioneers in this field is Backblaze, a company on a mission to make cloud storage astonishingly easy and affordable. Backblaze was able to revolutionize object storage with their extremely affordable B2 Cloud Storage platform that to date, stores almost 2 exabytes of content and counting. With 11 nines of durability and pricing as low as $5/TB/month, they created the go-to platform for extremely simple and extremely durable file storage regardless of your scale.

Together, we saw an opportunity to combine our visions and bring even more value for our mutual customers and help them both store and deliver content in the most cost-efficient way possible.

Today, we are very excited to announce, that bunny.net is partnering up with Backblaze to combine their B2 Cloud Storage with Bunny CDN and help companies store, grow and deliver content more quickly and affordably than ever before. The partnership allows customers on both platforms to waive the traffic fees between Backblaze B2 and Bunny CDN and say goodbye to storage egress costs.

This makes pricing much more simple and predictable with the only cost being Backblaze B2 storage costs and bunny.net traffic costs.

We hope that our partnership unlocks a door of new possibilities and help developers make the internet hop faster by reducing costs alongside other additional benefits.

Accelerated Global Backbone

By connecting directly with Backblaze from our San Jose datacenter, bunny.net is now able to take advantage of our global network backbone to accelerate uncached content. By routing traffic between Backblaze and our edge nodes over our internal network, this allows us to further improve reliability and performance for an unparalleled experience.

Powerful security through signed S3 requests

To securely manage and deliver content, Backblaze B2 supports the S3 protocol and thanks to our simple S3 request signing, bunny.net can easily connect to your bucket and securely pull files without exposing them to the public internet.

Combined with our token authentication, it allows you to have complete control to who and for how long your content is accessible.

Simple integration

Connecting bunny.net and Backblaze is simple and can be done in less than a few minutes. Create a free B2 Cloud Storage to get started. We also prepared a step by step guide to make this even easier and our support team of super bunnies will be happy to assist if you ever run into an issue.

Unparalleled Pricing

Thanks to the exceptional pricing of B2 Cloud Storage and our High Volume CDN tier, we believe we created an unparalleled solution for large projects and allow our customers to further reduce costs.

For even more cost savings, Backblaze’s Universal Data Migration service covers all data transfer costs, egress fees, and manages data migration from any public cloud provider. In short, your migration to Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage is free for migrations above 10 TB.

Making the internet hop!

It's our vision to help accelerate the internet and we're excited to be working together with Backblaze to allow companies and developers to deliver content more efficiently. We're also continuing to work together to hopefully be able to bring even more value in the future.
