Bruno Bogado: If We Do Good, We Will Receive Good

Posted by:

Dive into the world of bunny.net through the eyes of our CDN Support Engineer, Bruno Bogado, a passionate cook, a skilled traveller, and a student of Cybersecurity. Bruno is a natural helper at work and outside, always ready to assist those in need, guided by his belief that good deeds are repaid with goodness.

He reveals the everyday challenges and joys of being part of bunny.net’s Support team  committed to helping customers 24/7, and embodying the spirit and dedication behind bunny.net's success.

Bruno was visiting our Ljubljana Office in February, giving us the perfect opportunity to chat.

Q: Hi, Bruno. Can you quickly introduce yourself?

My name is Bruno, I’m from Paraguay, and I work at bunny.net as a Support engineer.

Q: You joined bunny.net as a CDN Support Engineer. How did you get your start in the support roles, and what aspects of your job do you find most rewarding?

I started working as a Support Engineer for different companies in 2016, and the thing that I find the most exciting about my position is the interaction with our customers. I also have the opportunity to impact their business and communicate their feature requests, helping to improve our products for them.

Q: What’s the feeling like after you’ve successfully resolved a complex issue for a customer?

What I like the most about my position is solving, maybe, minor issues for our customers that, at the same time, have a big impact on their product, project, or business. It’s a very nice feeling for us in the support to know that we are helping our customers to the best of our abilities so they can have a successful experience with bunny.net.

Q: Our 'Super Bunnies,' as we fondly call your team, is often cited as one of the top reasons for our 5-star customer reviews, with feedback praising the excellent and prompt support. How does such recognition make you feel about the work you do?

In the support team, we feel very accomplished when we see and receive all the reviews from different platforms, such as Trustpilot or G2, or even a customer mentions to one of our sales team representatives that they contacted the Support team and had a great experience or received a quick response in less than 15 minutes. It’s valuable for us to know we’re doing a good job and that our customers feel we care about the issue and are here to help them succeed and make the most out of their products.

Q: Given the 24/7 nature of our support, how does this impact your work schedule? Do you have fixed hours, or is there a level of flexibility?

We work 24/7 because we believe it’s important for our customers to know that we’re always here to support them. Although we operate on shifts and our schedules vary, the company is very understanding of the importance of a healthy work-life balance. They do their best to accommodate our needs, making sure we have time for personal and social activities outside of work. Additionally, within the Support department, we try to assist and cover for each other as needed. But as we proudly say, “support is always supporting.” 24/7.

Q: Speaking of flexibility, you are well-traveled, often working from various locations around the globe. Your last stop was Madrid, right? Does the flexibility to work from anywhere rank as your favourite benefit at bunny.net?

Yes, I currently live in Madrid after moving from the US. Having the ability to work from anywhere in the world is the best benefit that we have at bunny.net. It doesn’t matter which time zone, country, or even continent you’re on; as long as you have your computer and internet connection, you can work from anywhere. The company supports this by checking in to see if we’re ok with our schedules or if we need to switch due to the time differences. They’re always as helpful as possible. It's amazing to be able to work from any location worldwide and experience a truly remote-first culture within the company.

Q: It’s nice having you with us in the Ljubljana Office. How has your stay in Slovenia been so far?

Slovenia has been amazing. I’m in love with the food, the culture, and the people, even though I don't speak Slovenian. I’ve found that people here in Slovenia have been very accommodating and trying to help as much as possible. Being at bunny.net  HQ has been a great experience, where the “fluffle” gathers every single day. I’m looking forward to my next trip to Slovenia.

Q: Where do you plan to locate next time? Do you have any exotic destinations in mind?

I aim to visit as many countries as possible in Europe this year, with a short trip to Asia during the summer. But I enjoy Madrid a lot after living a couple of years in the US. I believe that Europe will be my main destination for this year.

Q: Going back to your work as a support. Can you share a particularly memorable experience where you felt your effort significantly impacted a customer's experience or the company's service?

I specifically remember a case where the customer had to upload a lot of information to our storage, and he was having issues with the system he was using for uploading. It was time-sensitive because he needed to have those files online as quickly as possible. The customer created a ticket within our system and I will always remember that he submitted a ticket just a minute ago. We provided the solution in less than a minute. The customer later reached out to say “thank you” for saving their day because it was a very important day for their company.

It was an exciting experience for me, and it helped me realize that we are not only helping customers with small issues but also creating an impact on their businesses. I think that’s the most rewarding thing about being on the Support Team.

Solving puzzles and searching for solutions in a Treasure hunt game

Q: You’ve shown yourself to be a go-to person for solving problems; I saw that when we were in our Teambuilding in Spain - you went to the pharmacy at night to buy medication for our coworker. These reactions seem natural to you. Do you consider yourself a natural helper? Is this one of the reasons why you joined the Support Team - so you can help others?

I personally believe in karma, meaning whatever you do will come back to you, and I get the chance to demonstrate this every single day in every situation in my life, whether at work or outside of it. I believe that if we help, we will be helped when we need it and if we do good, we will receive good.

Q: Are you looking to continue in Technical Support, or are you considering transitioning to another role in the future? What are your career aspirations?

Currently, I'm happy working in Support. I see many opportunities within the company to help our customers and continue growing. However, if I ever choose to transition to a different role or department, even doing something completely different, bunny.net will not only be supportive but will also help me achieve that goal if I ever decide to make that move.

Q: I've noticed that you're furthering your education with a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security at The University of Texas. Is this part of a broader plan for your career development?

I’ve always known I wanted to study something related to technology, and I believe that security is the future; now that our lives are so immersed in technology, the security aspect of this is very important. That is why I decided to study cybersecurity. It was perfect timing because at bunny.net, we’re always trying to improve security, and we are developing security products. I believe it is a good foundation for the future, and I’m excited about the opportunity to continue learning and growing my security and analytical skills. I think that my background will allow me to contribute significantly to  bunny.net’s upcoming security products.

Q: In what ways has working at bunny.net contributed to your personal and professional growth?

Every single day at bunny.net, I get to collaborate with people passionate about innovation, which inspires our entire team, the “fluffle,” as we call it. Working in a company where everyone is driven to make a difference, genuinely believing in the idea of innovation and understanding how the internet works and how to make it faster is amazing. It’s incredible to work with such people, and it’s an experience that I had never been exposed to before joining bunny.net.

Q: Looking at the future of internet security, where do you see the biggest challenges and opportunities, and how do you think your role at bunny.net will evolve to meet them?

I believe that technology and the internet are part of everyone’s lives today, and one of the most important aspects of it is the security of the information we share, download, and save on our computers and in the cloud. Security isn’t just the responsibility of the programmers, web developers, or system administrators; it’s something everyone should be aware of. At bunny.net, we’re dedicated to making the internet faster and more secure. I see myself not only contributing to these efforts as part of a technology company but also gaining the knowledge necessary to educate regular users on how to better secure their data. bunny.net will be a great ally for companies aiming to keep their data and their customer’s data secured more effectively.

Q: What are the top five items on your personal bucket list? These could be professional aspirations, travel destinations, personal milestones, or any other goals you're eager to achieve.

The top priority on my list is to continue travelling. I want to travel as much as possible, with the hope that someday I'll be able to say I've been all over the world.

The second priority on my list is to continue learning new languages and cultures, and not just for personal development. I find that interacting with customers is enriched by even small gestures, like greeting them in their own language—whether it's saying "Hello," "Hola," "Ciao," "Bom dia," or "Bonjour." I believe customers truly appreciate this personal touch.

Thirdly, I'd like to continue growing professionally, exploring areas I haven't ventured into before. I feel there are skills I've yet to discover about myself. I'm interested in marketing, sales, and HR, and I want to dive into these fields.

Fourth, I don't know how to ride a bike, so at some point, I think it's important for me to challenge myself and set learning to ride as a personal goal.

Lastly, my fifth priority is to eat more. I’m a “foodie”; one of the joys of travelling for me is the opportunity to learn about the culinary culture of different countries and continents and to be able to cook those dishes myself. Cooking more and expanding my culinary skills would be my fifth goal.

Bruno is a skilled cook and laureate of the "Culinary King" award within the Bunny Awards.

Q: At the last team-building event for the bunny team in Spain, you were named "Culinary King," seemingly due to your passion for cooking and enjoying good meals. This award is an excellent recognition with so many food enthusiasts in the company. If you were to give yourself an award, what would it be?

I wouldn’t give an award to myself, but I would definitely give one to the Support Team, who is always supportive. We regularly receive recognition from the wider team, as everyone knows, that “support is always supporting.” If I could, I’d give an award to all the bunnies, but especially to the support team for their unwavering help.
