Fluffle-building chronicles: Portugal 2025

Posted by:

It all kicked off with wind in our ears, light jackets on, and a bunch of bunnies buzzing with end-of-week energy at the dock. Once the catamaran set sail on the Tagus River, golden hour showed up right on cue. Lisbon’s skyline was glowing, the drinks were flowing, the food was top-notch…and the fluffle was pure vibes.

After last year’s sun-soaked adventure in Mallorca, we knew we had big flip-flops to fill. So this September, we packed our shades, our energy, and of course, our bunny spirit, and hopped over to Estoril, Portugal!

Our base? A cozy hotel nestled right by the sea, a hop away from Lisbon. Sure, the Atlantic breeze occasionally turned into a full-on gust, and yes, we even got a surprise rain shower. A bit unexpected for early September, but hey, bunnies are adaptable! Rain or shine, it was still the perfect setting for this year’s Fluffle-building adventure.

Almost seventy bunnies joined the Fluffle-building fun, and we can proudly say we turned the hotel into the fluffiest, most packed bunny burrow ever.

We were genuinely happy to see each other!

We kicked off our first evening with a rooftop dinner that had it all: a killer view, mouthwatering food, and the kind of conversations you wish could last forever. It was the perfect start to a trip that only got better with each passing day.

The welcome dinner was a blast!

Work hard, play harder (and build spaghetti towers)

Mornings were all about getting inspired. We dove into workshops, team OKRs, and department presentations. And yes, we built a spaghetti tower. Surprisingly tricky! It turned out to be the ultimate test of teamwork, patience, and pasta-engineering skills.

Pick-your-own-adventure afternoons

Afternoons were packed with fun, and everyone found their thing. Some of us swirled and sipped through a cozy wine tasting, others got creative with graffiti art, and a few brave souls dove into a pastel de nata baking class (with plenty of taste-testing, of course).

Some real masterpieces came out of our graffiti workshop.
We learned to make pastel de nata, Portugal’s famous custard tart.

Wait, there's more! There were tuk-tuk rides zipping through Lisbon’s charming streets and even surfing sessions that brought out our inner wave riders. And let's not forget the jeep ride to Sintra. That was wild!

But the best of all, we laughed, we bonded, we made memories. That’s exactly why we do this. And the magic of the whole week already has us counting down to next year’s Fluffle building.

And the Bunny Award goes to...

The now le-gen-da-ry Bunny Awards made a grand return! Many awards were up for grabs: mostly fun, individual shoutouts for things like being the most active on Slack, sharing the best memes, flooding the feed with food or pet pics, asking the sharpest questions, or simply being the most organized bunny of them all. Also, the unforgettable little poems about the laureates set the festive atmosphere.

And speaking of unforgettable, shoutout to Kit Hopkins, who proudly walked away with the "Main Character Syndrome" award. A well-deserved win, we must say.

They might sound like small achievements, but we truly believe it’s the little things that make a big difference and help shape the awesome culture we’re so proud of.

Smiles all around at the now-traditional Bunny Awards ceremony.
Even Kit Hopkins himself took home an award this year!

Sail, sing, repeat: our new fluffle tradition

We wrapped it all up with our now-traditional catamaran ride, gliding down the Tagus River at sunset. Great views, delicious food, and yes, karaoke! Who knew bunnies could rock that hard?

Does it get any better than this?
Karaoke might not seem like an art... until our talented bunnies take the mic!

Once again, this trip reminded us that we’re more than just a team. We’re a fluffle of many talents, big hearts, and incredible karaoke performers.

So where to next? Thailand? Spain again, like last year? Where do you think the Bunnies should hop next year? Drop us a suggestion in the comments below. We’re all ears!

Wherever we hop next, we know it’ll be magical as long as we’re there together.
