Thinking about joining the engineering team at bunny.net? Great choice! We’re not just building products; we’re making the internet faster, more reliable, and more fun. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s talk about how we hire engineers. No mystery. No trick questions. Just a clear and structured process to help both you and us figure out if we’re a great match.
Step 1: Spot a role that excites you & apply
Every great adventure starts with a first hop. If you find a role that makes your ears perk up, send us your application. But don’t just list technologies—tell us your story! What have you built? What problems have you solved? Where have you applied your skills?
We’re more interested in your experience than a stack of buzzwords. Instead of listing every tech you’ve touched, connect it to something real. Used a CDN? Worked with edge computing or streaming? Tell us how and why.
We’d love to see details from your two or three most recent roles, including relevant projects and technologies. And if you’ve tried out bunny.net before, we’d love to see it in your résumé, too.
Step 2: The talent acquisition call – a friendly chat
If your application catches our eye, we’ll invite you to a chat with our Talent Acquisition team. No tests. No pop quizzes. Just a relaxed conversation.
You’ll get a feel for our culture, async-first approach, and how we work together across time zones. We’ll learn more about your background, where you're looking to take your career, and what makes you excited about joining the fluffle.
This isn’t a one-way interview. Ask us anything: team dynamics, remote life, how we stay connected. It’s your time, too.
Step 3: The hiring manager interview – a conversation, not an interrogation
Now that we know you’re a great match, it’s time to dive deeper. In this step, you’ll meet the Team Leader for the role, who could be your future manager. It’s not a formal interrogation, just a relaxed, one-hour chat about your experience, how you solve problems, and how you work with others.
No live coding. No trick questions. Just a down-to-earth conversation about how you tackle engineering challenges and collaborate with others. Since our Team Leaders are hands-on, you'll get a feel for the team's day-to-day and technical direction.
This step isn’t just for us to evaluate you—it’s also your chance to see if bunny.net is the right place for you!
Step 4: The technical round – show us how you think
Now it’s time to roll up your sleeves. This round isn’t just about what you know; it's about how you think. Depending on the role, you might dive into system design, scalability, or a real-world engineering challenge. But don’t worry. We’re not here to throw random puzzles at you. We want to see how you break down problems, weigh trade-offs, and collaborate with a team.
Some roles include a take-home challenge. You’ll have 7 days to think about it the way you normally would at work. You can either prep your solution in advance as a reference for discussion or build it from scratch during the interview—it’s up to you!
Other times, when a coding challenge isn’t needed, this round is more of a “Meet the Team” session. You’ll connect with more of our fluffle members and chat about both technical and soft skills in a relaxed, conversational format.
We’re looking at more than technical skills. We want to see your process, your thinking, and how you’d help make the internet faster.
Step 5: The executive call – let's talk big picture
In the final step, you’ll meet with some folks from our executive team, including our CEO. It’s not about code here—it’s about purpose, impact, and vision.
This is where we want to hear what excites you about bunny.net. What drives you as an engineer? How do you see yourself making an impact here? We’re looking for people who don’t just want a job—they want to build something meaningful.
This is also your chance to ask the big questions. Where are we headed? What’s our big, hairy, audacious goal? What kind of problems are we focused on? Bring your curiosity. Nothing’s off the table. After all, this is a two-way conversation to make sure we’re the right fit for each other.
Step 6: Offer time – welcome to the fluffle!
At this point, we’ve gotten to know you, and hopefully, you’ve gotten to know us. The only thing left? Making it official.
We believe in full transparency. We’ll walk you through compensation, benefits, your role, and what to expect in your first weeks. You’ll know exactly how you fit into the team and the impact you’ll have from day one.
And once you accept? That’s when the real journey begins. You’ll pick the gear that suits you best, unwrap a surprise bag of Bunny swag, and officially step into the fluffle. It’s not just the start of a new job. It’s your chance to help shape what’s next for bunny.net.
This is the final step. But really, it’s just the beginning. Welcome to bunny.net. We can’t wait to build something amazing together!
Are you in? The internet won’t optimize itself, so let's do it together! Check out our open roles and make your first hop toward joining the fluffle.
