Broadcasters moving to OTT streaming get one shot to get it right. Even smaller broadcasters without major network budgets expect Netflix-level service, says Mohsen Haddad, CRO and co-founder of EasyBroadcast. There is no room for lag or a mid-event collapse. The pressure is highest at launch. When a major football league moved from a single rights deal to a multi-aggregator model, a large French broadcaster working with EasyBroadcast had to launch a subscription service quickly while competitors were already live. For broadcasters, the priorities are cost and flawless reliability, says Haddad. An established service might absorb a bad week as recoverable churn. For a service still ramping up, the same failure can end the business before it scales.

Edge caching absorbs the bulk of a traffic spike, while bunny.net's Origin Shield adds a secondary caching layer between edge PoPs and the origin. A file requested across thousands of edge locations can therefore be fetched once instead of thousands of times. Request Coalescing works alongside it, merging simultaneous requests for the same segment into a single origin request, then streaming the response to every waiting viewer in real time. Together, they protect the origin against the intense demand generated by major live events.

EasyBroadcast layers its own V2V technology on top for live broadcasts, letting viewers' devices relay part of the stream to nearby viewers watching the same feed.

This is particularly valuable in regions with less dense edge infrastructure, like North Africa, where point-of-presence density is a real constraint. bunny.net's infrastructure is also based in the EU, with its headquarters in Slovenia, helping EasyBroadcast keep delivery within EU jurisdiction.
